Abstract:

The unified pricing system of French books has been originated from the theory of cultural
exception. This system is promulgated by the‘Law Lang’in August 10, 1981.Since then, the law has
contributed in the stabilization of the book price, the prosperity of the book market, the revitalization of the book
industry. Today, with the development of digital technology, the e-book market rise gradually. But France still
adhere to the unified pricing system of books and promulgated the "law of e-book unified pricing" in 2011 to
standardize the electronic book pricing.
